Clermont-Ferrand (45 minutes) is a beautiful town on the edge of the Parc des Volcans in the department of Puy-de-Dôme. The old center is characterized by picturesque streets, large squares and cozy terraces and the beautiful architecture. In the city you will find nice boutiques, cafes and restaurants, various museums and during the Christmas period a Christmas market and beautiful decorations. One of the most important sights is the Notre-Dame-du-Port Basilica. This beautiful church dates back to the 11th century. The Place de Jaude is certainly also worth a look. At this square you will find numerous beautiful monuments, fountains and statues and you can grab a terrace. Also not to forget is a visit to the Cathedral of Clermont-Ferrand, the foundations were laid for this cathedral in the 5th century, the current version was built between 1248-1884, the cathedral is made of volcanic stone, the stained glass windows are beautiful. Vichy (60 minutes) was founded in the first century on a site with many hot springs. Vichy has grown into a health resort, where you will find several thermal baths. It is a pleasure to view the various buildings in the city, the beautiful Parc des Sources and enjoy the view of the river.
Montluçon (60 minutes) is a town that is certainly worth a visit. The historic city center with picturesque streets and old houses. The Castle of the Dukes of Bourbon. The Église St.-Pierre and Église Notre Dame. And the Wilson garden, a city park, geometric landscaping.
Moulins (90 minutes) is a beautiful city in the North of the Auvergne. The city dates back to the Middle Ages, you imagine yourself back in time. The city used to be inhabited by the Dukes of Bourbon, who brought prosperity and wealth to the city. The Notre Dame de l'Annonciation a Gothic church with impressive stained glass windows is well worth a visit.
